Yesterday, the animated movie “The Legend of the Mummies of Guanajuato” was recognized during the 2015 Canacine awards, their eleventh installment.
With more than 2,300,000 spectators, this Ánima Estudios feature length managed to come fourth in the national box office for 2014.
‘We are very proud and grateful for this recognition from Canacine. On our side, we will continue in our commitment to impulse the growth of the industry, not only in Mexico but in all of Latin America,’ said Fernando De Fuentes S., President of Ánima Estudios.
‘This prize, for which we are deeply grateful, is a testament not only to the work of the director
Alberto Rodriguez (director of “The Legend of the Mummies of Guanajuato”) and of Ánima Estudios and its talented team, but also of all those people who make animation in Mexico.’
With this third film in the Legends saga, the adventures of Leo San Juan, Teodora and the little sugar skulls have proved to be one of Mexican audiences’ favorites. This success likewise confirms Ánima Estudios position as Latin America’s biggest and most important animation studio.
