Leyenda de la Llorona haunts theaters – the movie will be released on October 21st 2011

Leo San Juan, hero of La Leyenda de la Nahuala, along with Don Andrés, El Alebrije, Teodora and the little sugar skulls Finado and Moribunda, start a new adventure. They are facing La Llorona, a fascinating legend that has transcended through time.

This creepy but at the same time magical and amusing story produced by ÁNIMA ESTUDIOS will hit the big screen this coming October 21st.

Ánima Estudios acquired the rights to the characters from Animex Estudios, producers of the very successful Leyenda de la Nahuala.

La Leyenda de la Llorona, written by Ricardo Arnaiz and Omar Mustre from Animex, tells the story of how Leo and his friends face La Llorona when arriving in Xochimilco, answering the call of the place’s inhabitants, who are alarmed by the disappearance of several children.

Leyenda de la Llorona, directed by Alberto ‘Chino’ Rodríguez, is set in Xochimilco, Mexico City.
